India Lockdown — Day 19

There was a bat in the house today. Peacefully sitting on the kitchen top, it fluttered away the moment i entered into the kitchen with my morning sleepy face. I was startled as much as the bat was and we both shared a moment of fear there. Similarly, a few months back, somewhere in Wuhan, a human and a bat shared something and we all know the rest. In case you’re wondering, i have not made up my bat story. It did happen, just like Covid-19.

The lockdown in the state i live in has been officially extended till 30th April. We were expecting a Modi speech tonight but it didn’t happen. I am disappointed since everytime the guy gives a speech we all get loads of memes and i get a huge amount of content to write in my blog. Tamil Nadu’s Chief Secretary said that there is a delay in receiving test kits ordered from China since the consignment meant for India was diverted to the USA. Doesn’t that irk you? And doesn’t it make you frown when Trump intimidates India if it doesn’t provide his country with hydroxychloroquine(if Trump can say this word, so can you read it) and when test kits meant for us gets sent to the US instead, Modi is nowhere to be found? This news was not even highlighted in the prime time media channels in the country.

I had plans to go home to visit my parents this weekend(friday was off too) and today was mom’s birthday as well. I forced her to dress up for the day and send me photographs as there’s only so much you can do in a lockdown. We don’t know how long the pandemic is going to last and the time when we used to go out and about is now a fast-fading memory. Going home post this mishap will more or less be a SRK moment in K3G(you should better be knowing the fullform), when he gets down from a helicopter(ofcourse there won’t be a helicopter in my case) and runs towards his house and is greeted by his mom at the entrance!
